Stay Slim and Have a Delicious Chocolate Fudge Also

By Viktor Kuhle

If you are on the lookout for a delicious and healthful dessert, today is your lucky day. Most of us have a sweet tooth and struggle to avoid the junk-food desserts. I found a recipe (from a Certified Nutrition Specialist) that will make you happy eating this delicious treat without adding body fat.

If you are like most people you have a sweet tooth and try to find desserts that reduce the fat content and reduce the sugar content. In reality we would probably find the Fountain of Youth before we discovered the formula for the magic dessert. Some people are satisfied with substituting artificial sweeteners for sugars and this might even be worse.

I have found a healthful chocolate fudge recipe. It is easy to make and only takes about 5 minutes. There are no added sugars or artificial sweeteners and all the fat comes from "healthy fat" sources, not man-made polyunsaturated fats and oils.

The is the famous Geary chocolate-peanut butter-fudge recipe. If that doesn't sound delicious wait until you discover all the ingredients. If you are allergic to peanuts you will be able to pick a substitute.

Start with getting all the ingredients on the countertop. First, a 3 to 4 ounce extra dark chocolate bar where the cocoa content is at least 70%. The higher the % the less sugar is in the bar. Take 4 to 5 Tbsp of a tasty organic nut butter. I have found many flavors work well. Try peanut butter, almond butter or cashew butter for example

Find and pour 2/3 to 3/4 of a cup of organic coconut milk. This milk is a great source of healthy saturated fats. Add 3 Tbsp of rice bran and 2 Tbsp of oat bran, which provides healthy fiber. Now mix in 1/2 cup of raw pecans, almonds, or walnuts and 1 tsp of vanilla extract. If you have read some of my other articles on nutrition and reducing belly fat, you know that the nuts provide healthy fats, antioxidants, and a whole range of vitamins and minerals.

There are just a couple more ingredients to add to this masterpiece. Lets get 1/2 cup of dried cranberries or raisins and a little stevia. Stevia is a natural, non-caloric sweetener without sugar or artificial sweeteners.

You are ready for a prime time cooking show. Chef hat on and start with the coconut milk, nut butter, and chocolate bar in a medium saucepan and put it on the lowest heat possible. Continuously stir as the chocolate, coconut milk, and nut butter melts together. Once these melt together add in all of the other ingredients and stir together until it is thoroughly mixed.

Get your favorite shallow baking dish and line it with some wax paper. Then spread the well-mixed fudge into the dish. Licking the spatula and your fingers after the fudge is transferred is permitted. Move everything in the refrigerator out of the way so that you can place this soon-to-be-eaten dessert on a shelf at eye level. It needs to solidify before you eat it. You get the Gold medal for preparing the most healthful chocolate fudge on the planet.

Keep in mind that you still need to keep your serving portions small because this is still a calorie-dense snack even though it is super-healthy. The good news is that it is lower in sugar and calories than typical fudge and has loads more nutrition than any typical fudge. Not the Fountain of Youth but you were more interested in a delicious fudge.
