It would even get worse if water that is flashed in these toilets does not go through since the human waste may be dispersed in the living areas. Toilets with high resting areas help households avoid such incidents.

Most toilets which have a sitting place possess a lid for covering the waste. They are thus suitable in homes that are experiencing dire water shortages since the lid covers the awful smell from being released. Toilets with no resting area do not have a cover thus can be quite annoying given that they emit smells once the waste is not removed.

Toilets that have elevated sitting surfaces often have some water that acts as an air lock. This makes it difficult for bad smell from blocked drainage systems to come out. Households therefore find life bearable irrespective of whether the drainage system is blocked or not. This is a more reliable alternative than using pit latrines and those without a sitting surface.

Toilets which have high seats are perfect for houses and small offices because you can easily spread skin illnesses if shared by very many people. Raised toilet seats may be hard to clean particularly in areas where water is scarce. However, they improve the appearance of houses by making them to look neat compared to toilets with no sitting surface.
