What Fish can do For You?

Many people are afraid to eat fish because of the mercury in it. Well some fish does not have as much mercury as others. You do need fish in your diet because there are many benefits to it. As Americans we do not eat enough fish as it is which is a problem.

Fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids which actually are really good for one's body. These fatty acids actually help to prevent diseases and cancers from happening. Here are other benefits:

1. Helps Avoid Depression - As stated above, fish contains Omega-3 fatty acids, and these are known to increase the levels of serotonin in the human brain. Therefore, the mind stays more optimistic and happier, leading to lesser instances of depression and low moods.

2. Fights off Alzheimer's - Many people are worried that with old age they will get Alzheimer's and one way to prevent this from happening is eating fish. Through eating fish you are actually lessening the risk of damaging brain cells through the polyunsaturated fatty acids. With that happening you are less susceptible of getting dementia.

3. Makes Skin Glow - This is one benefit that many people know about. Fish is actually really good for your skin. If you want to look younger, fish can do that through anti-wrinkle effects.

4. Controls Asthma - Since fish has so much protein, it is needed when growing up. This is essential for kids that are asthmatic and by adding fish to one's diet, their asthma can be reduced.

As you can see eating fish has many great benefits to helping one's health. I know this for a fact because I eat fish a lot. It is a regular part of my diet. Fish not only can make one look better, but it can also make one feel better.
