While most of the common herbs and spices delicious with meals are sold in grocery stores, even better cooking results can be achieved by using freshly grown herbs. If you have some time and space, start your own small garden of herbs, and help yourself when they are needed. Seeds can be grown in flowerbeds or in pots, and on the packet there are usually detailed instructions.
